5x+7y=17xy

5(1/y)+7(1/x)=17

5p+7q=17 be eqn 1 p=1/y,q=1/x

3x-8y=2xy

3(1/y)-8(1/x)=2

3p-8q=2 be eqn 2

solving 1 and 2

eqn1 *3 gives 15p+21q=51

eqn2*5 gives 15p-40q=10

61q=61

q=1 subs in eqn 2

3p-8=2

3p=10

p=10/3

so,x=1,y=3/10
