5y + 2 = 22

5y = 22 - 2 = 20

y = 20/5 = 4

Question :

Solve : -5y + 2 = 22

Answer :

▪︎First we take +2 to the RHS , where it becomes (-2)

▪︎Then we take (-5) to RHS , where it will divide 20.

▪︎Thus we get the value of y .

 \\  \\  \large \sf{-5y + 2 = 22}\\ \\   \large \sf-5y = 22 -2 \\  \\  \large \sf-5y = 20 \\ \\   \large \sf{y = 20/(-5)} \\ \\   \large \sf{y = (-20)/5 }\\ \\    \underline{ \underline{\large \sf{y = (-4)}}} \\  \\

When you solve : -5y+2=22 , we get , y = (-4)

Hope this helps you !
