Given-

67x+112y=-89,

112x +67y=-269

The substitution method is the algebraic method to solve simultaneous linear equations. As the word says, in this method, the value of one variable from one equation is substituted in the other equation.

67x+112y=89 ....(i)

112+67y=-269....(ii)

Multiply equation (1) by 67 and equation 2 by 112

4489x+7504y=5963\\12544x+47504y=-30128

-8055x=36091

x=-\frac{36091}{8055}

x=-4.48

putting this value in equation (1)

67(-4.48)+112y=89

112y=89+300.16

112y=389.16

y=\frac{389.16}{112}

y=3.47
