Answer:

x= 41 and y= 19

Step-by-step explanation:

7x-15y=2---------(1)

x-2y=3------------(2)

From equation (2),

x=2y+3---------(3)

From eqn (1) and (3),

7×(2y+3) -15y =2

14y +21 -15y =2

-y = -19

y= 19

Now,

x= 2×19+3=38+3=41

Given Equation:-

  • 7x - 15y = 2
  • x - 2y = 3

To Find:-

  • The value of x and y

Method:-

  • Substitution method

Solution:-

7x - 15y = 2 -----------> (i)

x - 2y = 3 --------------> (ii)

From Equation (ii)

x - 2y = 3

=> x = 2y + 3

Now,

Substituting the value of x in equation (i)

= 7x - 15y = 2

= 7(2y + 3) - 15y = 2

=> 14y + 21 - 15y = 2

=> 21 - y = 2

=> -y = 2 - 21

=> -y = -19

=> y = 19

Now,

Putting the value of y in equation (ii)

= x - 2y = 3

= x - 2 × 19 = 3

=> x - 38 = 3

=> x = 38 + 3

=> x = 41

Therefore,

  • x = 41
  • y = 19

Verification!!!

Let us put the values of x and y in equation (ii) and see whether LHS = RHS comes or not.

= x - 2y = 3

= 41 - 2 × 19 = 3

= 41 - 38 = 3

= 3 = 3

Hence LHS = RHS (Verified)
