8x - 3y = 13 ----------- (1) ( multiply 2)

3x + 2y = 8 ------------(2) ( multiply 3)

New Equations:

   16x - 6y = 26

   9x  + 6y = 24

   25x = 50

therefore, x = 2

substitute x = 2 in equation (1)

8(2) - 3y = 13

16 - 3y = 13

-3y = 13 - 16

-3y = -3

therefore y = 1

therefore, x = 2, y = 1
