Answer:

1) Given:

p/2+2 = 8

To find :

the value of p

Solution:

p/2 +2 = 8

p/2 +2/1 = 8

LCM of 2 and 1 = 2

p+4/2 = 8

Now cross multiply :

p+4 = 8×2

p+4 = 16

p = 16-4

p = 12

Ans = 12

2) 3p +4 = 25

= 3p = 25 - 4

= 3p = 21

= p = 21/3

Ans = p = 7

3) 20/p = 60

= p×20/p = p×60

= 20 = p×60 p

= 20 = 60 p

= 20/60 = 60p/60

Ans = p = 1/3

4) 3n-2 = 46

= 3n - 2 + 2 = 46 + 2

= 3n = 48

= 3n/3 = 48/3

Ans = n = 16

5) 4(m+3) = 18

= 4m + 12 = 18

= 4m +12 - 12 = 18 - 12

= 4m = 6

= 4m/4 = 6/4

Ans = m = 3/2

6) 34-5 (p-1) = 4

= 34 - 5p + 5 = 4

= 39 - 5p = 4

= -5p + 39 = 4

= -5p + 39 - 39 = 4 - 39

= -5p = -35

= -5p/-5 = -35/-5

Ans = p = 7
