area of rectangle = 50 x 45 = 2250

area of square = (48)^2 = 2304

2304 - 2250 = 54

area of square > area of rectangle

by 54 cm^2

rectangle area = 50×45=2250 cm2
square area=48×48=2304cm2
hence square area is greater than rectangle area by 54cm
