b counterweight needs to be moveable because to balance the torque produced by the weight by varying the distance between the crane and the counterweight

c 100×2=200Nm

d. 200Nm

e 200/400 =.5m

f counterweight will need to go far from crane

g 400×1/2 = 200N

h to reduce height of crane (lower centre of mass location)

to use counterweight wich provides adequate amount of torque to balance weight
