$5x + 2y = -6 --(1)$

$x + 5y = 4$

So,

$x = 4 - 5y --(2)$

Sub (2) in (1),

$5(4-5y) + 2y = -6$

$20 - 25y + 2y = -6$

$20 - 23y = -6$

$23y = 26$

$y = 26/23$

Substitute 'y' in any other equation,

Lets take (2),

$x = 4 - 5y$

$x = 4 - 5*(26/23)$

$x = 4 - 130/23$

$x = (92 - 130)/23$

$x = -38/23$
