Step-by-step explanation:

2(x +3) + 3(x +1) = 5(2x -1)

2x + 6 + 3x + 3 = 10x - 5

5x + 9 = 10x - 5

5x - 10x = - 5 - 9

- 5x = - 14

x = (-14)/(-5)

x = 14/5

checking by substituting 14/5 in the place of x

2(x +3) + 3(x +1) = 5(2x -1)

2(14/5 + 3) + 3(14/5 + 1) = 5(2×14/5 - 1)

2(29/5) + 3(19/5) = 5(28/5 - 1)

2(29/5) + 3(19/5) = 5(23/5)

58/5 + 57/5 = 115/5

115/5 = 115/5

LHS = RHS
