finding value of a

5a+4 =39

5a = 39 -4

5a= 35

a = 35/5

a = 7

According to BODMAS rule, the brackets have to be solved first followed by powers or roots (i.e. of), then Division, Multiplication, Addition and at the end Subtraction.

5a+4 = 39

5*7+4=39

35+4=39

39=39
