Answer : a) a-(-5) is not equal to a+b

a-(-5) = a+b

putting the values of a and b in the given statement...

a+5 = a+b

21+5 = 21+18

26 = 39

so, 26 is not equal to 39.

that's why a-(-5) is not equal a+b.

b) To construct: A △ABC where AB = BC = CA = 5.5cm

Steps of construction:

1. Draw a line AB = 5.5 cm

. Draw a line AB = 5.5 cm2. with A as centre and length= 5.5cm draw an arc

. Draw a line AB = 5.5 cm2. with A as centre and length= 5.5cm draw an arc3. with B as centre and length = 5.5cm draw another arc to cut the arc drawn in step 2 at C

. Draw a line AB = 5.5 cm2. with A as centre and length= 5.5cm draw an arc3. with B as centre and length = 5.5cm draw another arc to cut the arc drawn in step 2 at C4. Join AC and BC.ABC is the required triangle
