Solve any two of the following subquestions :
i) Find the diagonal of a rectangle whose length is 16 cm and area is 192 sq.cm.
ii) Draw a circle with centre P and radius 3.5 cm. Take point Q at a distance 6.2 cm
from the centre. Construct tangents to the circle from point Q.
m PQR, and 9 c A(m PQR) = 16 c A(m LMN).

Given

area of a rectangle is 192 sq.cm

length is 16 cm

Find out the diagonal of a rectangle.

To proof

Formula

Area of a rectangle= length × breadth

as given

area = 192 sq.cm

length = 16 cm

put in the above equation

192 = 16× breadth

breadth =frac{192}{16}

breadth = 12cm

now by using the pythagorus theorem

Hypotenuse² = height² + base²

Diagonal ² = length² +breadth²

\sf =   16 ²  + 12²

\sf                 = 256 + 144

\sf                 =  400

\sf                 = √ 400

\sf                = 20 cm

The diagonal of the rectangle is 20cm.

Hence proved

Answer:

length = 16

breadth = ?

area of rectangle =192cm sq.

length × breadth = 192cm sq.

16× b = 192cm sq.

b = 192/16

b = 12

now. by Pythagoras theorem

Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the hypotenuse:

a2+b2=c2, where a and b are the legs and c is the hypotenuse

16×16 +12×12=c2

256+144=(400)2

so the ... diagonal of rectancle =20
