Number of remaining passenger is 40 - x
Total money from passenger of 3rs ticket = 3x
Total money from passenger of 10rs ticket =
10 ( 40 - x ) = 400 - 10x
Total money from all passenger = 295 rs
ATP
3x + ( 400 - 10x ) = 295
3x - 10x = 295 - 400
- 7x = -105
x = -105 / -7
x = 15
There are 15 passengers which have 3 rs ticket.
8 - Let the numerator be x
Denominator is x - 4
After addind 6 in numerator it become x + 6 equal to its thrice denominator
ATP
x + 6 = 3 (x - 4 )
x + 6 = 3x -12
x - 3x = -12 -6
- 2x = - 18
x = 9
So the fraction = x / x - 4 = 9 / 9-4
=> 9 / 5
