1) x + y= 17---------------------(1)

10x + y -(10y+x) = 9

10x+y-10y-x = 9

9x - 9y = 9

x - y = 1----------------------------(2)

from eq i and ii we get,

y = 8

putting the value of y in eq 1

x + 8 = 17

x = 9

original number be 10x+y

=10*9+8

=98

2) ATQ:

x+(x+1) + x-1 = x(x+1)(x-1)

3x = x²+x(x-1)

3x = x³-x²+x²-x

4x = x³

4 = x³/x

4 = x²

x = √4

x = 2

∴The nos. are:

x-1 = 2-1  = 1

x = 2        = 2

x+1 = 2+1 = 3
