Using substitution method
x+y=3 ........1
3x-5y=5...........2
from (1) x=3-y .........3
Putting equation 3 in 2
3(3-y)-5y=5
9-3y-5y=5
-8y=5-9
y= -4/-8=1/2
puting the value of y in equation 3
x=3-1/2
x=6-1/2
x=5/2
