Answer:

x. y. 1

-2. 1. 1. -2

-5. 5. 3. -5

x / -10+5 = y/3-5 = 1/ -5 + 6

x/ -5 = y/-2 = 1/1

x/-5 = 1/1

x = -5

y = -2

GIVEN,

             x - 2y = 1 -----------(1)

            3x - 5y = 5 ---------(2)

(1)÷(2)

(x - 2y)/(3x - 5y) = 1/5

from cross multiplication

5(x - 2y) = (3x - 5y)1

5x - 10y = 3x - 5y

2x = 5y

x = 5y/2

substitute value of x in (1)

5y/2 - 2y = 1

(5y² - 4y)/2y = 1

5y² - 4y = 2y

5y² = 8y

y = 8/5

x = -11/5
