Answer:

2x+3y= 11 ----------1

x+ y= 3 ------------- 2

solving by elimination method

multiplying equation 2 by 2

2( x+y)= 3×2

2x+2y= 6 ----------3

subtract equation 2 from equation 1

2x+3y=11

2x+2y= 6

y= 5

putting value of x in equation 3

2x+2(5) = 6

2x+10= 6

2x= 6-10

2x= (-4)

x= (-4)/2

x= (-2)

hence, value of x= (-2) and y= 5
