-x + 3y = 8

4x + 7y = 25 _____(2)

➡️Multiply first eq by 4 we get :

-4x + 12 y = 32. _____(3)

➡️Adding (2) and (3).

4x + 7y - 4x + 12y = 25 + 32

19 y = 57

✔️y = 3.

➡️ Putting y = 3 in eq first :

-x + 3 ☓ 3 = 8

-x + 9 = 8

-x = 8 - 9

-x = - 1

✔️x = 1.

Solution :

x = 1 and y = 3.

Solution:
Solving by elimination method.
-x + 3y = 8 ........E1
4x + 7y = 25 .......E2

Multiplying E1 by 4, we get
-4x + 12y = 32 ........E3

On adding E2 & E3, we are eliminating 4x-4x, hence we get
19y = 57
Therefore, y = 3.

Substituting the value of y in E2, we get
4x + 7 × 3 = 25
or 4x + 21 = 25
or x = 4/4
Therefore, x = 1.

Hence, x = 1
& y = 3.

Hope you got it!
