Answer:

8x-12y = 4

8x-4 = 12y

(8x-4)/12 = y

8x/12 - 4/12 = y

2x/3 - 1/3 = y

(2x-1)/3 = y —— (1)

Also

9x-12y = 3

9x-3 = 12y

(9x-3)/12 = y

9x/12 - 3/12 = y

3x/4 - 1/4 = y

(3x-1)/4 = y —— (2)

From equation 1 and 2

(2x-1)/3 = (3x-1)/4

4(2x-1) = 3(3x-1)

8x-4 = 9x-3

-4+3 = 9x-8x

(-1) = x (3)

Putting equation 3 in equation 1

We get

(2×(-1)-1)/3 = y

(-2-1)/3 = y

-3/3 = y

(-1) = y

Hope it helps you!!
