3x-y=7 ------- (eq.1)
2x+5y=-1 ----- (eq.2)
Multiplying (eq.1) by 2 and (eq.2) by 3
6x-2y=14 ------ (eq. 3)
6x+15y=-3 ------ (eq.4)
Subtracting (eq.4) by (eq.3) we get,
17y=-17
y=-1
so,
3x+1=7
3x=6
x=2

2x+5y=-1 ----- (eq.2)
Multiplying (eq.1) by 2 and (eq.2) by 3
6x-2y=14 ------ (eq. 3)
6x+15y=-3 ------ (eq.4)
Subtracting (eq.4) by (eq.3) we get,
17y=-17
y=-1
so,

3x=6
