multiplying both side by 3 in eq. (1),we get;

6x-9y = 57 .....(3)

multiplying both side by 2 in eq. (2),we get;

6x+4y = 18 .....(4)

Now, subtracting eq (4) from (3) to eliminate 'x' and we will get 'y' respectively;

(6x-9y)- (6x+4y) = 57-18

Or, -13y = 39

Or, y = -3

Put y = -3 in eq. (1),we get; x=5

Hence, x= 5 and y = -3 is the req. solution using elimination method.
