2x - 5x - 20 = 1

-3x = 1 + 20

-3x = 21

x = 21÷-3

x = -7

-7 + y = 4

y = 4 + 7

y = 11

multiplying equation 1by 2 =)
2x+2y=8------(3)
substracting eq2&3
2x+2y=8
-2x-5y=1
-------------
7y=7
y=1
on substituting y=1 in eq 1
x+y=4
x+1=4
x=3
