Solution;

Given system of equations

are

x+y= 5 ---(1)

2x-3y=5 ---(2)

multiply (1) by 3 we get

3x+3y=15 ---(3)

Now , add (2) and (3) , we get

=> 5x = 20

=> x = 20/5

=> x = 4

substitute x = 4 in equation (1),

we get

4 + y = 5

=> y = 5-4

=> y = 1

Therefore,.

x = 4 , y = 1
