Given equations :
6x + 9y = 57
9x + 6y = 48
[1] Add both these equations, we get
15x + 15y = 105
15 ( x + y ) = 15 ( 7 )
→ x + y = 7 .........( 1 )
[2] Subtract both these equations, we get
- 3x + 3y = 9
3 ( - x + y ) = 3 ( 3 )
→ - x + y = 3 ..........( 2 )
Add ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) , we get
2y = 10
y = 10/2
→ y = 5
Put this value in ( 2 )
- x + 5 = 3
x = 5 - 3
→ x = 2
Hence, x = 2 and y = 5.
6x + 9y = 57
9x + 6y = 48
[1] Add both these equations, we get
15x + 15y = 105
15 ( x + y ) = 15 ( 7 )

3 ( - x + y ) = 3 ( 3 )

Add ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) , we get
2y = 10
y = 10/2
→ y = 5
Put this value in ( 2 )
- x + 5 = 3
x = 5 - 3
→ x = 2
Hence, x = 2 and y = 5.
