》x² - 3x - 10 = 0

Now using the middle term we get,

》x(x + 2) - 5(x + 2) = 0

》(x - 5) (x + 2) = 0

》x - 5 = 0 , x + 2 = 0

》x = 5 , x = - 2

Hence , x = 5 and x = - 2
