Hey friend,

Here is your answer
______________________________________________________________

 x+3  -  1-x  =  17
 x-2        x         4

=> x² + 3x - x + x² + 2 -2x 17
              x² - 2x                        4

=> 2x² + 2  =  17
     x² - 2x        4

=> 8x² + 8 = 17x² - 34x

=> 0 = 9x² - 34x - 8

=> 9x² - 36x + 2x - 8 = 0

=> 9x(x-4) + 2(x-4) = 0

=> (9x+2)(x-4) = 0

=>  9x + 2 = 0                      x - 4 = 0

=>   x = ⁻²/₉                          x = 4
