Solve by formula method (steps are required) :-

x²-3x-2=0

 { \color{aqua}{ \underbrace{ \underline{ \color{lime}{ \mathbb{✯꧁ ⋆᭄ SoLuTiOn⋆᭄꧂✯ }}}}}}

 {x}^{2}  - 3x - 2 = 0

a = 1 \\ b =  - 3 \\ c =  - 2

formula \\ x =  \frac{ - b± \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}

x =  \frac{ - ( - 3)± \sqrt{ {( - 3)}^{2} - 4(1)( - 2) } }{2(1)}

x =  \frac{3± \sqrt{9 + 8} }{2}

x =  \frac{3± \sqrt{17} }{2}

x =  \frac{3 +  \sqrt{17} }{2}  \:  \: or \:  \: x =  \frac{3 -  \sqrt{17} }{2}
