Solve by method of completing the square method: x²– 8x – 33 = 0.​

Answer:

x^2-8x-33

=x^2-8x=33......(1)

=Term added=(1/2 of coefficient if x)^2

= (1/2×8)^2

=(1/4×64)

=64/4

=16

adding 16 on both side of equation (1)

x^2-8x+16=33+16

(x-4)^2=49

taking square root on both side

x-4=+-49

x-4=49 or x-4=-49

x=49+4 x=-49+4

x=53 x=-45
