 \frac{10}{x + y}  +  \frac{2}{x - y} = 4 \:  \:  \:

 \frac{15}{x + y}  -  \frac{5}{x - y}  =  - 2

let \frac{1}{x + y}  = u \: and \:  \frac{1}{x - y}  = v

10u + 2v = 4 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 15u - 5v =  - 2

Eliminating u

30u+6v=12

-30u±10v=±4

___________

16v=16

___________

v=1

10u+2(1)=4

u=1/5

 \frac{1}{x + y}  =  \frac{1}{5} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \frac{1}{x - y}  = 1

Reciprocaling both sides

x+y=5. x-y=1

Eliminating y

x+y=5

x-y=1

______

2x=6

_______

x=3

x-y=1

3-y=1

-y=-2

y=2

Hope it helps
