3a+5b = 26. ( Equation 1)

1a+5b = 22. ( Equation 2)

(-). (-). (-). (By changing the signs)

-----------------

2a = 4

a = 4/2

a = 2

Substituting value of a in equation 1

Therefore

3a+5b=26

3(2)+5b=26

6 +5b=26

5b= 26-6

5b=20

b =20/5

b=4

Therefore the values of 'a' and 'b' are 2 and 4 respectively
