x+y = 4
=> x = 4-y
Substituting the value of x
x-y = 14
=> 4-y-y = 14
=> 4-2y = 14
=> -2y = 14-4
=> -y = 5
=> y = -5
x = 4-y
= 4-(-5)
=4+5
=9

x+y=4 eq 1
x-y=14 eq 2
from eq 2 we get
x=14+y
put the value of x in eq 1 we get
14+y+y=4
2y=-10
y=-5
put the value of the y in eq 1 we get
x + y=4
x-5=4
x=9
hence the value of the x and y =9&-5
hope it will help you
x-y=14 eq 2
from eq 2 we get
x=14+y
put the value of x in eq 1 we get
14+y+y=4
2y=-10
y=-5
put the value of the y in eq 1 we get
x + y=4
x-5=4
x=9
hence the value of the x and y =9&-5
hope it will help you
