x - y=7 _ 1 × 3

3x + y =10 _ 2 × 1

3x - 3y=21

3x + y=10

y=-11/4

putting the value of y in eq. 1

x - y = 7

x + 11/4 = 7

x = 7 - 11/4

x = 28-11/4

x = 17/4
