equation 1. × 5 => 15x - 5y = 25 ----------- equation 3.

equation 2.× 3 => 15x - 3y = 33 ------------ equation 4.

By Elimination Method,

equation 4. - equation 3. => 0x + 2y = 8

=> 2y = 8

=> y = 8÷2

= 4

substitute y = 4 in equation 1.

3x–y=5

3x - 4 = 5

3x = 9

x = 3

Hence , x = 3 and y = 4
