Answer:

D=b^2-4ac

=-3^2-4×1×1

=9-4

=5

x=-b+-√5/2

x=3+-√5/2

x=3+√5/2 and 3-√5/2

therefore the roots are 3+√5/2&3-√5/2

Answer:

x^2-3x+1=0

ax^2-bx+c=0

x=-b+-√(b^2-4ac)/2a

=-(-3)+-√((-3)^2-4(1)(1)/2(1)

=3+-√(9-4)/2

=3+-√(5)/2

=3+√5/2. or. 3-√5/2
