Heya!

Join OQ

OQ = OR = 17cm ( radius)

Using pythagoras theorem in triangle OMQ

OQ² = OM² + MQ²

17² - 8² = MQ²

289-64 = mq²

225 = MQ²

MQ = 15

PQ = 2MQ = 30cm

Answer:

PQ = 30cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Join OP and OQ

In rt. angled triangle APM,

OP² = OM² + PM²

17² = 8² + PM²

17² - 8² = PM²

(17+8)(17-8) = PM²

25*9 = PM²

PM = √25 * √9

     = 5 * 3

      =15cm.

Perpendicular drawn from the center to the bisects the chord.

∴PM = MQ

∴PQ = 2 PM

∴PQ = 2*15

PQ= 30 cm.
