Answer:

z = -2, 7/2

Step-by-step explanation:

By splitting the middle term we get:-

 =  > 2 {z}^{2}  - 3z \:  - 14

 =  > 2 {z}^{2}  + 4z \:  - 7z - 14

 =  > 2z(z + 2) - 7(z + 2)

 =  > (2z - 7)(z + 2)

 =  > z =  - 2 \: or \:  \frac{7}{2}

Hope it helps, and please mark it as the brainliest...

Solution:

Given equation,

→ 2z² - 3z - 14 = 0

We have to find out the values of z.

By splitting the middle term, we get,

→ 2z² - 7z + 4z - 14 = 0 (-7 + 4 = -3 and -7 × 4 = -28)

→ z(2z - 7) + 2(2z - 7) = 0

→ (z + 2)(2z - 7) = 0

By zero product rule,

→ Either z + 2 = 0 or 2z - 7 = 0

→ z = -2, 7/2

→ z = -2, 3.5

So, the values of z are -2 and 3.5

Answer:

  • z = -2, 3.5
