by \: cross \: multiplication \:

11 \times (2y + 7) = 1 \times 1

22y + 77 = 1

22y = 1 - 77

22y =  - 76

y =  \frac{ - 76}{22}

y =  -  \frac{38}{11}

Therefore, Answer is -38/11.
