  1. Question⇒  solve equation graphically: 3x+y-11=0; x-y+1 =0

Step-by-step explanation:

  • line 1: 3x+y-11=0   or 3x+y=11
  • line 2: x -y-1=0      or x-y=1
  • line1 + line2...(3x+x) +(y-y)=12
  • 4x=12
  • x=3
  • from line 2...y=x-1=2

Answer:

x = 2.5 and y = 3.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

3 x + y - 11 = 0

y = 11 - 3 x ....( i )

x - y + 1 = 0

y = x + 1

From  ( i ) and ( ii ) we get

11 - 3 x = x + 1

3 x + x = 11 - 1

4 x = 10

x = 2.5

putting x = 2.5 in ( ii ) we get

y = x + 1

y = 2.5 + 1

y = 3.5

Thus we get x = 2.5 and y = 3.5

Now we can see on coordinate plan there is intersection point at ( 2.5 , 3.5 ).
