x = 21, y = -10

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

x + 2y = -1   ...(i)

2x - 3y = 12   ...(ii)

using elimination method,

_________

2x+4y=2

2x+3y=12

(-) (-) (-)

___________

0 + y = -10

∵ y = -10.

Now by putting y = -10 in equation (i)

x + 2(-10) = -1

x = 21

Thus, x = 21 & y = -10.
