Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Equations:

3x + y = 9   ⇒ ( Eqn. 1 )

x + 5y = 10      ⇒ ( Eqn. 2 )

From Second equation we get,

⇒ x = 10 - 5y     ⇒ ( Eqn. 3 )

Substituting Eqn. 3 in Eqn. 1 we get,

⇒ 3 (10 - 5y ) + y = 9

⇒ 30 - 15y + y = 9

⇒ 30 - 9 = 15y - y

⇒ 21 = 14 y

⇒ y = 21 / 14 = 3/2

Substituting value of 'y' in Eqn. 3 we get,

⇒ x = 10 - 5y

⇒ x = 10 - 5 ( 3 / 2 )

⇒ x = 10 - 15 / 2

⇒ x = ( 20 - 15 ) / 2

⇒ x = 5 / 2

These are the required values.

Answer:

3x + y=9 ......(1)

3(x+ 5y =10) ........ (2)

3x + y = 9

3x + 15 y = 30

-- -- --

- 14 y = - 21

14y =21

y = 3/2

put y = 3/2 in (1)

3x+ 3/2 = 9

3x= 9 - 3/2

3x = 18 -3/2

x = 15/2×3

x= 15/6

x= 5/2
