1) Economic activities are related to production, distribution, exchange and consumption of goods and services. The primary aim of the economic activity is the production of goods and services with a view to make them available to consumer.

2) When we produce a good by exploiting natural resources, it is an activity of primary sector. This is because it forms the base for all other products that we subsequently make. Since most of the natural products are from agriculture, dairy, fishing, forestry, this sector is also called agriculture and related sector.

3) The primary sector is called as such because it produces goods exploiting natural recourses. Some of the activities of this sector are agriculture, dairy, fishing and forestry.

4) Primary sector plays a vital role in development of industrial sector. For examples: the growth of a huge textile giant like reliance is dependent on the farmers and cotton they grow. So its always the primary sector which lays the foundation for the growth of some of the biggest industries in the world.

5) Tertiary sector entails goods that are : Services, Incorporeal/ intangible This sector involves production of services/ goods that may/may not not then transform into end products. Examples: Restaurants - Food service providers.
