27a+18b=18
27a-12b=3 ( change the signs)

b=15/30=1/2

Put b=1/2in eq (1)
3a+2*1/2=2
3a+1=2
3a=2-1
3a=1
a=1/3

a=1/x+y. , b=1/x-y
1/3=1/x+y. , 1/2=1/x-y

By cross multiply
x+y=3...(1)
X-y=2...(2)

Put this value of “x” in eq 2
3-y-y=2
3-2y=2
-2y=2-3
-2y=-1
Y=1/2

Put y =1/2 in eq (1)
x+y=3
x+1/2=3
x=3-1/2
x=6-1/2
