31.4311947

Given,

DC=15.4 AND CM=27.4

As it is a right angle triangle

by applying Pythagoras theorem,

DM^2=CD^2+CM^2

DM^2=15.4^2+27.4^2

DM^2=237.16+750.76

DM^2=987.92

DM=√987.92

DM=31.43

SO DM =31.43

Concept:

As it is given that it is a right angle triangle, it means that it has three sides in which one is called base, one is called perpendicular and one is called hypotenuse.

Here, we will use Pythagoras theorem

i.e. H^{2} =P^{2} +B^{2}

where, H= Hypotenuse

           P= Perpendicular

           B= Base

Given:

We have right angle triangle DCM which is right angle at C.

DC=15.4 cm , CM= 27.4 cm

Find:

We have to find DM.

Solution:

By using Pythagoras Theorem

i.e.  H^{2} =P^{2} +B^{2}

    DM^{2} = DC^{2} + CM^{2}

             = 27.4^{2} +15.4^{2}

             =750.76 + 237.16

    DM^{2} = 987.92

     DM = \sqrt{987.92}

     DM = 31.43

Hence, the final answer is 31.43 cm.
