now, from eq. 1

x+y=27

x=27-y

put in eq. 2

xy+x-y=183

(27-y) y+27-y-y=183

27y-y²-2y=156

y²+25y+156=0

y²+12y+13y+156=0

y(y+12) +13(y+12) =0

y=-12, -13

if y=-12

then, x=27-(-12)

x=39

if y =-13

then, x=27-(-13)

=40
