2x -3x=7

Answer:

2x = 8 – 12y

12 + 2x + 2y = 4x

 

The second equation, after subtracting 2x from each side, becomes 12 + 2y = 2x

 

Equating the two representations of 2x from first & second equations leadsus to 12 + 2y = 8 - 12y

or 14 y = -4  so that gives y = -2/7.
