(3x+1) ^2+(x+1) ^2/(3x+1) (x+1) =5/2

9x^2+6x+1+x^2+2x+1/3x^2+4x+1=5/2

10x^2+8x+2/3x^2+4x+1=5/2

2(10x^2+8x+2) =5(3x^2+4x+1)

20x^2+16x+4=15x^2+20x+5

5x^2-4x-1=0

5x^2-5x+x-1=0

5x(x-1) +1(x-1) =0

(5x+1) (x-1) =0

x=-1/5

x=1
