7 x + 14 / 3 - 17 - 3 x / 5 = 6 x - 4 x + 2 / 3 - 5

7 x + 14 / -14 - 3 x / 5 = 2 x + 2 / -2

(7 x + 14) * 5 / -14 - 3 x = 2 x + 2 / -2

35 x + 70 / -14 - 3 x = 2 x + 2 / -2

by cross multiplication,

(35 x + 70) * (-2) =  (-14 - 3 x) * (2 x + 2)

-70 x - 140 = -28 x -28 -6 x^2 -6 x

re arranging like terms,

-70 x + 28 x + 6 x =  -28 -6 x^2 + 140

-36 x = 112-6 x^2

112-6 x^2 + 36 x = 0
