Step-by-step explanation:

8^{x+1}=16^{x+2}

First we make all the bases same by,

=> 2^{3(x+1)}   =2^{4(x+2)}

=> 2^{3x+3} = 2^{4x + 8}

Since all the bases are same,

∴ 3x + 3=4x+8

=> 3-8 = 4x-3x

=> -5 = x

=> x = -5 (Ans)
