Solve for x&y : (3/x+y)+(11/x-y)=10. (4/x+y)+(5/x-y)=13. Find value of x and y

  • so now we have 1/x = a
  • now, substitute the value of 1/x in the equation. and it will become 3a+y+11a-y=10 which is basically 14a =10
  • now we have 14a=10 , which will give us a =10/14
  • since a=1/x and a=10/14
  • x=14/10=1.4
  • so x=1.4
  • Keep this value aside and solve the second equation similarly with a=1/x
  • after solving second equation you will get
  • 9a=13
  • which becomes x=9/13
  • if we talk about 'y' it is getting cancelled in both equations so value of y cannot be defined, because y could be any integer.
